Smith competes in the 14- and 15-year-old black belt division. She’ll be a freshman at Republic High School this year. She’ll wrap up her time in Houston today, when she competes in Olympic-style sparring. I’ll post those results when I get them. |
Republic’s Rylee Smith has won two taekwondo medals, including a gold, and goes for a third today at the AAU Junior Olympics in Houston. Republic’s Megan Hergesheimer beat her personal best in the 3000-meter run by eight seconds to take 7th place in the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics in Baltimore Saturday. Her finish earned her a place on the medal stand and All-American recognition. She turned in a time of 11:01.
